Progress Textile, one of the well-known companies offering professional accessory solutions to globally renowned apparel brands, is enhancing its presence in North African countries. The company, known for supplying high-quality products in metal, polyester, and plastic accessories, also excels in zippers and labels. Şefik Özdemir, the owner of Progress Textile, stated their intention to strengthen their export direction due to stagnant market conditions, saying: “I founded Progress Textile in Merter in 2016. Our customer portfolio includes global apparel companies. As an Istanbul Apparel Exporters’ Association (IHKIB) member, we are among the few companies that focus entirely on foreign trade. We export to many countries worldwide, particularly in North Africa.”
The Accessory Supplier of Famous Brands
Şefik Özdemir, expressing that they respond to demand with a value-added product range, stated: “At Progress Textile, we serve famous apparel brands. We are generally a company that specializes in metal accessories. We supply various accessories to our customers made of zinc alloy, brass, and sheet metal. Plastic buttons, buckles, and stoppers are also among our product range. We excel in nylon, metal, and bone zippers. We reflect the fashion of the day in leather labels. We also respond to demands in lace and fabric areas. 2022 was a year when business was slow. The fluctuation in the Dollar-Euro parity greatly affected our industry, and therefore, production slowed down. Since our establishment, we have been exporting especially to countries like Tunisia and Morocco, and participating in exhibitions held in Egypt and Tunisia. We are currently continuing our business with this working structure. Finally, by adding Egypt to the countries we export to, we have become stronger in the North African Market. With all these developments, I anticipate that 2023 will be more positive.”
